    Problems with the agents

    Hello!

I just installed Zabbix server on a Debian Etch box. I want to monitor my other servers. Then I installed the zabbix_agentd on the other computers, mainly OpenBSD boxes. The weird thing is, when I add the computers to the Hosts list in the web interface, they say Status: Unknown. It seems they don't have contact. I guess there is a magic thing I must do in the web interface... Could anyone please give me a hint?

    Sincerely,
    Aleksander Steffensen

Did you start the zabbix_server process?
Did you start the zabbix_agentd process?

Are there any firewalls between the agents and server that are blocking the agent and server ports (10050 and 10051 by default)?

Can you telnet from agent to server on port 10050?
What about server to agent on 10051?

The processes are started and running (I am not supposed to start the server process on the agents, right?)

There are no firewalls between the server and the agents, they are all on the same local network.

I'm not in the serverroom now, so I cannot try telnet'ing, but I'll try it when I am there! Thank you for your answer!
