Understanding perf_counter better

On one particular server I am monitoring, the perf_counter checks I am using are reporting back "Not Supported". This is item comes from a template that works on a whole bunch of other servers. That being said, I'm pretty sure the problem is with my server, but my problem is that I don't understand how the zabbix agent get's those values from the system monitor counters. Can anyone give me some insight as to how this piece of Zabbix functions so I can figure out what on my server is broken?

Nevermind - I figured it out

PerfMon is completely broken.

Can you get performance data from that server using perfmon?
