I can't use Windows Agent

Hello Guys.

I have installed some days ago Zabbix server on Linux Gentoo (downloaded from gentoo portage ver 1.1.7 ) and zabbix agent on linux servers. All agent works fine. All check are set as "activechek"

The final test before start zabbix in production environment is monitoring windows platform, but the agent on windows not works.

I have downloaded the latest package from zabbix web server (Zabbix Source 1.4.2 relased on 20 August, 2007).
I use zabbix_agentd.exe picked up from \bin\win_32\ directory. and use zabbix.conf file from misc dir and setup it with correct parameter.

On server i create the new host and some basic items like "agent version" . When i start zabbix agent on windows client, log file report this message

NB2: Without windows remote check.. i can't start trainig /cert courses in zabbix office

I Have changed address from FQDN name to "*****" in conf file for security reason.

And the items you're creating are Active Items?
How about firewalls? On the Windows machine, can you see the port on the server?
Are you still using server version 1.1.7? If so, you must update.

Client can reach the server... Firewall is disabled...

Gentoo portage (portage is software repository) , contains this software

net-analyzer/zabbix-server 1.1.7
net-analyzer/zabbix-frontend 1.1.7
net-analyzer/zabbix-agentd 1.1.7
net-analyzer/zabbix 1.4.2

I don't know the difference from zabbix and zabbix-server...

UPDATE:

I have removed all zabbix-* package from my installation and use latest version of zabbix

latest zabbix package include agent, frontend and server ...i can activate item by "use" definition on gentoo system

Now i'm receving the first check "agent.version". The problem seems fixed

For all other Gentoo User : Don't use single packet (agent, frontend and server) but compile zabbix with right USE flag set !!
