Add a template to many hosts

Hi,

How can I add a template to a list of hosts? I read in some posts that I can use rules and actions but I don't understand.

I don't think that there is an easy way to do so, since there aren't any "Mass update" function on the host level. You probably have to go into each host and then add the template.

Note that this can't be done directly in the database, since all items/graphs/triggers/etc. for the template then doesn't get added to the hosts.

I saw in the documentation that we can create an action with these attributes :
- condition : host ip = 'x.x.x.x'
- operation : link to template xxxx

So, I create an action but when and how this action is executed? I don't know...

Please explain me how to do.

An action could be executed by using auto discovery, just go to Configuration -> Actions, and set Event source to Discovery. When you have set up the actions you need, you then need to define an auto discovery rule, that is done in Discovery.

- how can I create an auto-discovery rule?

I ask you this question because I create a new rule but I don't know how to link it to my firts action?
