    blank graphs AGAIN!

Firstly, let me just say ARRGGHHHHH!

Then, can I ask, has anyone else had experience of the graphs in Zabbix being blank while the actual figures in the history show valid values?

We have it all the time, across all kinds of servers (we monitor about 100 at the mo, and I reckon 20 to 30 have this problem).

Once client wants to know why their graphs are blank from 10:28 on the 12th of Dec while their history shows data.

What should I tell them ?

Yep. I get blank graphs with 1.4.2. I usually just change the display period and they aren't blank. What version are you using? I would guess that graphs work better with .3 or .4

Yeah, this is different. I get that as well, where the graph is blank for one hour, but at two hours or more it appears to show the graph up to the present.

In this instance I have multiple boxes whose graphs stop at a certain time and date. All graphs for that box, everything. You have to move the time scale around to go back to that point to see anything. The text values though are perfectly normal.

The reliability of the graphing in zabbix is getting right on my wick !

Is there some form of graphing cache or similar that can be reset in zabbix to force the graphing engine to re-examine the raw data and display graphs based on it ?

As I understand, problem appears when you trying to view some historical data for period smaller than, say 3days... it doesn't show, but if you increase period it appears?

Not quite. The graphs stopped on the 12th of this month (or there abouts). The following day it was clear the graphs were blank, even though the text data was fine. Increasing the period of time shows the data but only because you may end up including the 12th of Dec in the graph. Increasing the period *doesnt* make the graph show data up until today.

Simply put, graphs stop on the 12th. Even though the data is visible as raw data up to the current time.

Nope, it's not that. In that forum post, changing the time frame for the graph magically makes the graph appear up to the present moment, where-as in my case the graphing simply stops on the 12th at about 12:08 or something. No matter of graph fidling gets any lines to appear after that point in time, despite having raw data up to now.

Is this with just 1 item or more?
And for 1 or more hosts?
                  With kind regards,

The important one is one particular server where its appearing for every single entry.

There are other servers where it appears for some items.

Are you using predefined 'Graphs' or are you clicking 'Graph' in the 'Latest Data' screen?

Is there a difference in result between these methods?

Yes the problem occurs to both custom graphs and just the 'graph' link.

its all values. all items. all the defaults and all our custom items. some check every 15 secs and some once a day.

history tends to be 365 for all items

365 day history? Can you tell me how large your history tables have become? (records/gigs)
