    device management

    Hi there,

One ABC question: how can I do to manage several hundreds hosts? Add the host one by one manually as there's no auto discovery feature?

    Thanks,
    Zoe

Depends what you are trying to avoid. If you want to avoid adding monitored items and triggers to each host and if the hosts are all similar in what you want to monitor you can use templates. Create a template and then add all of you new hosts based on that template. This will popluate the monitored items, triggers, etc for each new host. You can also use the "hard linked" templates. That way when you update the template all "connected" hosts get updated.

If you want to avoid manually adding the hosts at all, somebody posted a script to insert a bunch of hosts into the SQL database. You would probably have to modify it, but it could be done. I would still suggest using a template as your base even if you go this route.
