Put jmeter on zabbix

Hi,

I am a novice and I want to define a new zabbix agent and put some jmeter tests in zabbix. How can I do that?

I would say write a script that runs jmeter tests and then pushes the results into zabbix using zabbix_sender.

To implement this, do I have to write a script like this one (written in perl) :

You don't have to write your own sender. Zabbix comes with a command line utility named zabbix_sender. You can find its usage in the Zabbix manual and that is a lot simpler than writing your own protocol handler.

Alternately, you can write your own sender in Java using Zapcat, it has a sender class that can connect to a Zabbix server if you like. http://www.kjkoster.org/zapcat/How_To_Push.html

OK, so if I understand :
- in order to put jmeter results in zabbix I will use zabbix sender (commande line)
- and for other java applications I will use zapcat => very well !

I read this point :
"4.5. ZABBIX Sender (UNIX)" in zabbix manual but there is no example. What's a key, how to define its value?

key is the item key in Zabbix item definition.

So if I create a new item in the web interface, I can choose a key defined in agent's configuration file. What is the type ?
- zabbix agent?
- zabbix trapper?
