Merge multiple SNMP items to one (for cisci 2950 switch)

Hi,

I am kind of new to snmp so perhaps I am asking stupid things. Sorry for that

I add a cisco switch 2950 to my zabbix server. What I see is 26 entries for each INport ifInOctets1-26 and ifOutOctets1-26.

I am able to make graphs per port. But what I also want to do is a graph for the entire switch. So I want to have ifInOctetsAll and ifOutOctetsAll.

What is the best way to do this ?

When I go to screens and choose resource graph I can include graphs I made earlier. But in fact that is my problem. How can I make a graph with the total input and output traffic of the switch.

To do this you will need an external script. There is no way to "aggregate" or create a summation of multiple items from within the same host. This has been discussed before. If you can't find anything post back and someone can help you write a script to do this.

This is the template I created myself for the HP procurve switch. The naming of the ports can be different of course :-)

I solved it by adjusting statistics.
