    unattented backup of zabbix configuration

    hi,

As y zabbix configuration grows i'd like to save all the configuration made to this point on a daily basis. Of course i could use the export feature of the web admin to do manual backups of this configuration but i need a way to make automatic backups.

As my innodb database is reaching 7GB of data i do not want to make a daily backup of it either.

Anybody know the best practice to do unattended backup of all the zabbix configuration ( everything except the monitoring data) ? It could be a good thing if a tools was capable of doing that from zabbix.

    regards,
    Ghislain.

You could just take a backup of the database, but leave the history* and trends tables out. They are the one taking up far most space.

I just checked my DB server, and if I leave out the tables history, history_unit, trends and history_str, the rest of the data only takes up 57 MB, which I would consider as a fair amount of data to back up.
