    housekeeping question

    My database seems to be growing very fast and I wonder whether housekeeper is running or not.

    i check zabbix_server.log and it makes no mention of housekeeper. the first entry in the log is from 2006!

    i checked my config file-
    housekeepingfrequency=6
    #DisableHousekeeping=1

    the log has debug level of 2.

    How can I verify if housekeeper is running?

    How do I force housekeeper to run?

        v1.1...on a redhat 2.4

        and for an example: my history_text table keeps growing. i initially was capturing a list of top processes from unix servers. i deleted these items but i can still view the itemid in the history_text table. it has been more than 7 hours since this delete so housekeeper should have ran at least once.

        i checked the housekeeper table and searched for entries where the tablename is like history_text and the query returned 0 values.

        my DB keeps growing and i'm not sure if housekeeper is running.

            does housekeeper clean up the history_text table???

            i'm not sure it does because it has metrics that are no longer being collected; in fact, those items have been deleted.
