XML monitoring...

Hi,

I have been playing with Zabbix for a few weeks now, and I really like what I see thus far. However, I need help with something.

I have a few devices that I monitor that do not do SNMP or anything like that. They are RS485 Modbus gateways, where they take Modbus registers and present it as a XML page.

I'd like to use Zabbix to monitor this. So, I need for Zabbix to look at a XML page and extract data to be monitored.

Can this be done?

Everything can be done by Zabbix, as long as you can get it done from a Linux shell. You can make your own bash/php/perl/whatever script you like and use the external scripts feature of Zabbix to execute the script.
