Limits to the number of Interfaces, Bonds - eth6, bond4

    Hi, all -

I ran into a situation today where I could only go up to 5 Ethernet interfaces ( eth0 - eth5 ), and up to four bonds ( bond0 - bond3 ). Any interfaces or bonds that I added in addition to those were listed as "Item not supported by Zabbix client" or something similar.

Although that makes sense, it really hinders what I'd like to do with the Zabbix client.

So to fix that, I'm going to make a UserParamater to grab some deltas for me for interfaces greater than those listed. Although that will probably work, it's not as "clean" as I would like it to be. I'd much rather the Zabbix client happily accept an unlimited amount of interfaces - regardless of them being bonds or real Ethernet interfaces.

Maybe this can be a feature request or enhancement, I'm not sure. I'm just trying to see if anyone else has ran into this problem, and what they did about it.

    Thanks

    Hi, All -

I don't see any inherent limits in the actual code itself, but I may not be looking in the correct place.

Has anyone come across this before?

    Thanks

      Hi -

Just wanted to follow up that we have several hosts at this point utilizing more than six interfaces, and we see no problems.

I suppose this is just an erroneous report of the support of the zabbix client for these particular interfaces.

      Thanks
