    SNMP and ZABBIX

    Hi All, I'm working with SNMP devices, but I would like to know when a device is off.

    So, I dont know what item to monitor for that, I have the SNMPv2 template for this hosts, I would like only to know when a device is on or off to send alarms.

      If you're just looking for on/off status, why don't you just use a simple ping? No need for SNMP, as far as I can tell.

          yeah, but i need alarms, and send emails when this is off or on.!

              The Zabbix documentation is quite good. Read it.

              Look at the sections on ICMP Ping, Triggers, and Media.
