Error Zabbix_Agentd.exe Service Not Working

hello,

I need help please, i install on my linux (fedora) server Zabbix, it's work!
But i want add a windows XP or 2K3 Server machine, i installed the Zabbix_Agentd.exe on my machines,
I write with the command :

c:\Zabbix\win32\zabbix_agent --config c:\zabbix_agentd.conf --install

My problem is the service "ZABBIX Agent" don't start.

"Error message : Error 1053 : the service don't respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. "

My version zabbix is : ZABBIX 1.4.1

Maybe you're confusing zabbix_agentd and zabbix_agent?

I install the zabbix_agentd.exe, it's correct ?

Yes, zabbix_agentd.exe is probably the one you want -- but that's not what you wrote in your command.

oh sorry, it's an error on my part by copying, my cmd is
c:\Zabbix\win32\zabbix_agentd --config c:\zabbix_agentd.conf --install

if you can explain me why i can't start the service, thanks

I really don't know. Is it the installation or the start-stop that fails? What's in your configuration file?

Anything in the agent log? Try a higher debug level.

ur configuration file is pretty light...
give us the whole config...

One thing to know on windows : zabbix do not like some text editor...e.g to edit ur conf, use wordpad instead of notepad...

We had this exact same issue when we did the Zabbix install last week.
After a few hours, we found the issue. Turns out the contents of the zabbix_agentd.conf file are case sensitive on Windows. Go figure.

Anyway, the only entry we put in the conf was our Zabbix server ip. At first we had a lower case "s" on server. Changed that to a capital "S" and the service started up for us.

zabbix_agentd.exe dissappear from processes

Hello

I have the same issue and same error message.

Also the zabbix_agentd.exe pops up on the taskmanager processes and after couple seconds just simply dissappear.

Any idea why?
