    Patch policy

    Hi,

We are a startup that is about to commercialize a low cost ($15) but highly secure USB authentication token (http://www.swekey.com) that secure logins for web sites and web applications.

We would like to write a pacth for Zabbix so users will be able to get benefit of our hardware authentication.

We already did a lot of integration on open source projects (PhpMyAdmin, Drupal, SquirrelMail, RoundCube, phpBB, WordPress, MediaWiki, PrestaShop...), and it should not be a big deal to integrate swekey authentication in Zabbix.

Like for other open source projects we propose to donate $1 for every swekey purchased from a Zabbix site.

My question is: does the Zabbix community will accept to include a patch that integrates a commercial hardware product ?

If some members of the Zabbix team want to try a swekey to see how it is integrated in other Open Source projects (we have demos on our site) I can send some swekey prototypes for evaluation.

    Regards,

    Luc

If the method is universal (regular token support), i don't think anyone would mind.

Our token is automated, (no button no screen it just need to be plugged), you must query a one time password using a Java Script request to the installed plugin or activex.

There is no universal method for that, so the code will be swekey specific (but well isolated)
