BUGFIX: format error with escalator query

Hello,

I noticed that between the 1.6.0 and 1.6.1 a bug was added to action escalations.

The symptom is that escalations no longer worked, because the actionid was not formatted correctly due to the extra 'comma'.

I found it though :-)

Please include this in the next minor release.

Forgive me but how do I apply patches to an existing installation?

so i have removed the "," from the line specified in the patch in my /zabbix-1.6.1/src/zabbix_server/escalator/ {folder} to escalator.c {file}

I've seen no change though, i try to set my escalation for a period of 120sec but get no notifications after any period of time that has expired with the trigger.

was there any other steps needed to take to get escalations to work?

Reboot Server necessary?

Applying patch did not work...

BUT following did:

Stoped Server.

Grabbed 1.6.X pre release from: www.zabbix.com/developers.php

Recompiled

Started Server

you should also tell _what_ didn't work.
wild guess - you were in zabbix source directory when attempting to apply the patch. if so, use -p2

Also...

This may seem obvious to most, but since it is a C file, the programs need to be recompiled. A PHP file for the interface do not need recompiling.

./make install

should do it.

I have downloaded and compiled the latest build and my escalations are not working. I have hunted all over for a solution, and yet to find one. I am looking in the log an I see this query often:

Query [select escalationid,actionid,triggerid,eventid,r_eventid, esc_step,status from escalations where status in (0,1) and nextcheck<=1231190489 and escalationid between 000000000000000 and 099999999999999]

the nextcheck is the current timestamp... and nothing is returned when ran by hand. If I remove the "and nextcheck<=1231190489" and add nextcheck to list of columns I want. I get tons of results and all the nextcheck values are > than 1231190489.

The items I have are being check every 60s and I want to send an alert every 5mins until the problem is resolved. What am I missing? Any ideas on how to fix the issue?
