    WMI support in Zabbix Agent

    Hello,
this is the patch to add support for WMI queries in Zabbix Agent. It will add "wmi.get" key. I have tested it only with Win32 agent, no support for x64 so far.

    Parameters:
1 - mandatory. WMI root. for example: root\cimv2
2 - mandatory. WMI query. for example: select * from Win32_DiskDrive where Name like '%PHYSICALDRIVE0%'
3 - mandatory. Property to return. for example: Status
4 - optional. Data type to convert value into. Supported types are: int64 and text . This is needed because WMI sometimes returns numeric values as text.

Some examples where it can be used:
Get status of the physical disk:
    wmi.get[root\cimv2,select * from Win32_DiskDrive where Name like '%PHYSICALDRIVE0%',Status]
Get status of the NLB cluster member:
    wmi.get[root\microsoftnlb,select StatusCode from MicrosoftNLB_Node,StatusCode]

More information on WMI classes can be found here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...(v=VS.85).aspx

Thank you for your patch. It is very likely it will be included into coming Zabbix 2.0 after our review. Great job!

          Hi,
I know that this topic is one year old (sorry ) but I want to learn more about this feature.
Is this patch already work with Zabbix 2.0, or is this feature is natively integrated
(I don't find anything about this support in the 2.0 official documentation)
          Thank by advance.

This hasn't been implemented yet (even in 2.0).

It's a shame, this would be a fantastic feature.

                When????

                Any news?

So when can we expect it? or is it already implemented? Would be great to have direct support for WMI queries from agent

It's allready in 2.2, you just don't see it when you click "select" on the item key.

There's a memory leak in this code (https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBX-8506)
