Anyone able to tell me what SNMP improvements I can expect in 1.6?

One of the big let downs has always been the Zabbix SNMP implementation, no auto discovery of ...well anything (thinking say a cisco switch here). Each ITEM has a the community string rather than the host (far more sensible place for it).
For me to really sell Zabbix to our business it needs to be as good at monitoring network equipment as it is at monitoring servers. This means being able to point it at a Cisco switch, provide a mib and having zabbix go off and discover what ports are in use and up, what speed those ports are connected at, the port descriptions.... etc.
But this also goes for things like storage appliances (netapp etc...) hand zabbix a MIB file and let it offer me things to monitor.
