    [zabbix 1.6] ubuntu packages

    Hi,

we made some ubuntu packages available for zabbix-1.6.
    There's also a package for proxy-pgsql available.
We use postgresql as our main database so testing is concentrated on this.
    Feel free to leave feedback.

zabbix-frontend-php has unnecessary dependence from php-mysql.

          thanks but i know.
The dependency resolver of the original did not work correctly. It did not install the php5-pgsql package by default
Thats why I added both dependencies staticly for the moment as an workaround.
If you know a better way please let me know.

These somewhat more official packages should work for Ubuntu. They are not and probably will never be based on builds. Just actual releases.

With the pace the development of zabbix and the critical bug fixes in the early days after release of 1.6 (mem. leak, host removal, ...) I decided to put also builds in the package. The official debian packages needs to be rebuild for ubuntu and lacks proxy support. They also refuse sqlite support which is imo a good choice as db-backend for proxy. When theres time i will add the original release again but with the knowing about server-memleak who will use that?

Yep. I agree there are limitations, just wanted to point out that packages are there. I'm surprised Alexei didn't release 1.6.1 with all the fixes currently out.

I have noticed that http://oss.travelping.com is down recently. Is there any chance that you could provide an 1.6.6 package for jaunty?

                            forwarded from our management:

with the current transition to a new data center location lots of configuration work is in progress.
The OSS.travelping.com serivce is one of the tasks at hand. It should be available within the next days again.

I am sorry for the circumstances and hope you will use the service later on again.
