server-agent version doubt

Dear all,

For the time being, I'm running the last svn 1.6 (6216) upgraded from a 1.4.5

All my agents are 1.4.5.

What are the main differenced from having 1.6 agent?
I'm loosing some data or features?
Should I update all my agent as well? (not so easy step)

Briefly, newer agents support more metrics, also they support data buffering and much more efficient protocol for active checks. Upgrade is recommended (wait for 1.6.1) yet not mandatory.
