Hardware Tracking

Hi all, Hi Alexi, have a general question
currewntly i use zabbix, have been for almost a year now, to monitor all my hardware, servers, routers, catalysts, wireless access points, printers, et al.

i am currently using a seperate package to track hardware, and hardware related issues, in this package, i have all my serial numbers, and the hardware configurations for all the systems, since zabbix has some of this info, are you thinking about adding the functionality to have all hardware related info in a host config,


if you dont quite inderstand my question let me know i will elaborate some more

Does the software you're using collect the information automatically, i.e. performs periodic scanning, or the information gets updated manually by operators?

I could add a hardware information profile page linked to host details. Is it what you want? Any additional reports based on the hardware profiles?

it would be nice if you add a hardware page when adding a host,

if you want to go one step further you can then create a main ppage "hardware" where i can see a list of servers, serial nmbers, and some basic info, like contact info, etc.....

I've implemented host profiles (os details, software,hardware, location, contacts, notes, etc). Host profiles are configurable in host details screen.

Now I'm not quite sure how to provide the information in the best possible way. Shall it be part of existing screen (Latest Values, Overview, whatever) or a new screen (Host profiles) has to be introduced?

Any suggestions?
