    ipmi under FreeBSD?

How is this solved? As I can understand ipmi support in zabbix depends on openipmi library, and it's not available for FreeBSD. And it seems like freeipmi and openipmi are not compatible.

    Thoughts?

Yes, we are using openipmi library, which is not compatible with freeipmi.

      Now supported?

      Hi All,
I saw openipmi package on freebsd ports. Does it mean, FreeBSD support for ZABBIX IPMI monitoring?

      Comment?

      Thanks,

This thread can come up in a google search, so I want to address this question here.

I added IPMI support to Zabbix under FreeBSD with the following procedure.

        Install IPMI.

        pkg_add -r openipmi

And then I installed Zabbix from source. If you have already done this, you have to redo the configuration.

        cd /usr/ports/net-mgmt/zabbix-server

        make config

Be sure that IPMI is selected, push tab, then enter for OK.

        make

        /usr/local/etc/rc.d/zabbix_server stop

        make deinstall
        make install
        /usr/local/etc/rc.d/zabbix_server start

Your FreeBSD Zabbix server should now be able to handle IPMI.
