check item on a specified time instead on a interval

Normally zabbix checks an item on an interval. I have an application with need a item check on a specified time.(2:30 PM) I don't think this is possible, but i hope that someone has a idea!

I know i can use zabbix_sender with a cronjob, but it would be very nice if i can setup this from my zabbix server.

if I remember correctly Alexei mentioned during the ZABBIX training
in November 2008 that they are - at least - thinking about adding
a sort-of cron functionality in the Agent.

There is a scheduler (because of the intervals) in the code, anyway.

First: I though, why ?

But you have just mentioned a reason to do so.

Dead Thread

I know this is a dead thread but since google has it archived...

You should be able to accomplish this with creative use of the flex intervals. Add a flex interval of 0 for every time chink except 2:30.
