    Oracle JDBC

Are there any plans to use JDBC drivers for use with Oracle database instead of the libsqlora8 ?

Or even just the standard oracle client?

    Cheers

The "J" in JDBC stands for "Java". Zabbix is not written in Java, so I would not expect to see it using any JDBC drivers. Perhaps you should try to explain what you actually want.

Hi Sterno, I know the JDBC is written in Java I was just wanting to know if there is going to support for the native oracle client supplied by oracle.

We have tried to use the libora8 but having create difficulty with it, it has not been updated since 2005 and there is no support for it.

We use oracle in house, but we are having major problems with getting zabbix to work with oracle as we cant get the libora8 to work.

Is zabix could just use the native oracle client that would be much easier.

Has anyone got the libora8 working with oracle 10g, if so is there any detail unsruction on how this is done.

          Any help would be great.

          Cheers

          Simon

We also tried to get Zabbix to work with Oracle10g since this is our production db. It was a mess so we decided to go with mysql instead.

Have the devs thought about using soap for connections ?
