agentd: dell openmanage integration

Hi,

I think it will be nice to have openmanage and other similar management software directly include in agentd, well the ability to retriev information from those software

We can always use snmp to monitor a server but that include that we have to open a port, active snmp, ...

Or we can use agentd with active check but we have to create manually each check on each servers and sometimes install a few software to process the data (under windows).

It would be nice to have something like openmanage.fan[1,status] openmanage.fan[1,speed] ...

Zabbix is a really good software but like anything, we always want more

Using SNMP works great. If you really dont want to open the port and end up writing local check I would highly suggest you put the templates in the wiki for anyone else who wants them.

If you truely want them integrated into the agent send an email to the sales team at ZABBIX and have them send you a quote to sponsor the development. There time is better spent on features that help more than 50% of the user base, but if your willing to pay for the functionality I am sure they would be willing to write the code.

Thanks for the feedback.

I will post my work for sure if I done something "clean".

The reason why I have post this is to look if other people seems to be interest in this feature.

SNMP is ok if you deal with a few network or if you only deal with one but it's start to be less frendly when you have over 10-20 networks to monitor and you don't always have access to the firewall of those network (thanks active checks)

Of course if only a small number of people is interest in this feature it's normal to have noboy working on it but we have to all share our idea if we want Zabbix to be rich "unique".
