Is it currently possible to define a timeout on a per-item, per-host basis? There are some tests that we would like to execute against our Exchange server which would take several minutes to return.

If a check takes more than 3 seconds, I would strongly suggest combo of crontab and zabbix_sender. ZABBIX doesn't support setting timeouts on item level. -

Can u please put this optional........ i need 3 to 5 seconds.... on some items... and i don't want to crontab stuff.
