    Unexpected result of MassUpdate

All of my linux servers are attached to My_Template_Linux and have been monitoring nicely for quite some time now.

Today I wanted to attach an additional template to all of my linux servers, so that they would now have My_Template_Linux and My_Additional_Template. Thinking that the Mass update would be the quickest method to achieve this, I selected all the linux servers, clicked on Mass update and attached the new template. Wow, too easy.

A quick check of the Linux Servers Host page showed that the My_Template_Linux was no longer attached. Only the new template was attached. I was definitely not expecting that.

I quickly re-attached the Linux Template, and of course every trigger fired. The recipients of the actions were not impressed.

I spent the next hour disabling Unsupported parameters and disabling various previously disabled triggers.

The next 'horror' was to find that all the Linux Template linked graphs were now missing from all the beautiful Custom Screens I had made. All previous data was now gone.

What a great way to start a Monday morning.

richlv: Thanks for the bug report.

More info: Today I unlinked the Additional_Template that I linked last week, making sure that Template_Linux was still selected.

This time I didn't lose the Linux Template data, but all disabled items and triggers were re-enabled, setting off alerts for the previously disabled triggers.
