    Suggestion: Improvement in "Latest Data"

    Hi

I like the Latest Data page as well as the possibility to
specify valuemaps for, say, Nagios plugin exit codes,
HP Insight SNMP return values, etc.

    Now, let's combine both !

The Latest data page shows links like Graph or History
depending on the type of data. Numeric data will be
shown as graph while text data are displayed as text.
    A very nice feature, indeed.

I think that it would be a good idea to use History for
numeric values which have a valuemap attached, too.

Viewing a graph with, say, value 4 means nothing, but showing
a history of 4 (failed) tells everything.

If it's not to difficult to implement or results in much lower performance
displaying the Latest Data page: how about implementing it ?

    Just a thought.

    Norbert.

you can get values from the dropdown in the upper right corner easily when opened the graph.
or did you want graph link immediately replaced with history link ?

I know how to use ZABBIX very well

This feature request is not for me, I am using ZABBIX only for fun
Other people in our company will soon use it for monitoring work.
And for them replacing the graph link by the history link would be nice.

      Regards

      Norbert.

well, for boolean mapped values graph would still be more useful than plain valuelist...
one can easily identify one or another state over a long period of time, as opposed to looking at a long list of data entries.

          Hi richlv

without looking at the configuration, there is no way to tell
that this item has a valuemap attached !

And we don't want to allow everyone to change the items.

A long line of, say, value 4 tells nothing about the problem, at all.

          Regards

          Norbert.

i agree that it would be useful to somehow be aware of valuemap - i'd suggest filing this on the ZBXNEXT tracker
