Hi to all,
please does somebody have IPV4+IPV6 setup of zabbix? It means servers have IPV4 address and IPV6 address, some services on IPV6 and some services on IPV4. EG. DNS server, which listens on IPV4 and IPV6. We need to monitor them both together.
Today implementation is, that I either use dns name for host (and IPV6 stack is automaticaly used if it has AAAA in DNS) or IP (and I can insert IPV4 or IPV6 address of server).
So if we want to monitor both IPV4 and IPV6 for one server, it means that I must have two same servers, one for IPV4 and one for IPV6. Did I understand it good?
I want to open some discussion about this here. So which are best practices for monitoring both IPV6 and IPV4 services on servers.
General question is, if this two things will be joined together in future (and I can choose IPV4 or IPV6 service to test) or IPV6 and IPV4 will be divided into two hosts.
Thank you,
Lukas
