Could use a 'MAINTENANCE' trigger status

Right now, it seems all one can do with maintenance periods, is have Zabbix not send any notifications through the actions configuration.

However, the status pages still show all of the triggers going into PROBLEM status, filling the status screens with red warnings and making the audible alarm go off.

What is worse, is that it also totally messes up availability statistics, as there is no way to see if a problem occurred during a maintenance window or not.

It would be nice if you could see (for example):
    trigger1: 98.50 % available, 1.30% maintenance, 0.15% problem, 0.05% unknown

    Which looks much better than:
    trigger1: 98.50 % available, 1.45% problem, 0.05% unknown

I guess for now, I can configure the maintenance period to not collect data, but it would be nice to see scheduled maintenance time versus real maintenance time afterwards...

    Hi!

    Try the following:

    - take a host of your choice (maybe windows- or linux-machine, best your zabbixserver itself)
    - generate a file on that machine (f.e. C:\maintenance-on.txt or /root/maintenance-on)
    - generate a trigger "Maintenance-mode on" to fire up, when the file exists
    - depend all triggers on that trigger

I think with this, you can "silence" all your triggers just by generating the file for your period of maintenance-time on your machine of choice.

    Cheers,

    Markus.
