Configuration of Item for SNMP Host

    Hi,

I had a hard time figuring out why an SNMP host was issuing Timeout erros, when i realise there was an empty item in its " CONFIGURATION OF ITEMS" list. There was nothing set for that empty item exept Type: Zabbix Agent.

I changed the type to SNMP V1 and the host was up and running.

I only wanted to mention that this is not a very intuitive way of setting up SNMP Host type. Shouldn't it be set globally for each host in " CONFIGURATION OF HOSTS AND HOST GROUPS"?

No, it shouldn't be! Some hosts may use, for example, SNMP and ZABBIX agent. SNMP - Oracle, Zabbix agent - monitoring of OS parameters.

      Yes I totally agree Alexei.

Actually, i just notice that if i delete the "empty" item from the list, it still works...It makes a lot more sense this way.

Now i am wondering why this "empty" item, I was describing in previous post, poped-up in my configuration of items list. Why the fact it was of type "Zabbix Agent" affected the whole functionnaly of my snmp sensor?
