What hardware do you use for zabbix server?

Hi, today i migrated 1100 host to my new zabbix server. After i added the new hosts, items (6 per host), graphs (4 per host) and screen i found out that my hardware are to fragile. For your information, i use one Fujitzu-Siemens RX100SE with 1 GB RAM an two 80GB HDD configured with RAID 1.

Please post, what kind of hardware you use and how many hosts you monitor. Thats very interesting for me.

    Thanks

no more graphs with 1200 monitored hosts

Have anybody an idea how to tune up the zabbix? Maybe with mysql tuning option or something else. What can i do that the server can monitor the 1200 hosts? If all 1200 hosts are monitored i do not get any graphs, and the server is very slowly. Perhaps 1200 hosts are to much for the zabbix? Should i split it?
    Please i need your help.

NUmber of graphs does not affect performance of ZABBIX. ZABBIX generates graphs on the fly. ZABBIX performance is actually number of checks it is able to perform per second. In your case if refresh period is set to 60 seconds for all items, ZABBIX must handle approximately 110 checks per seconds which should be ok (not sure wht processor you have) on your hardware.

        I have Intel Pentium4, 800 MHz FSB, 630 (3.0 GHz) Prozessor.

I think the bad performance comes from the database. I have to look for tuning possibilities. Perhaps you know how to set up the performance of mysql databases?

The processor is more than enough for the volumes you have (assuming one check per minute). There is no single receipt how to achieve better MySQL performance. It depends on many factors (size of database, MySQL version, MyISAM/InnoDB, settings of ZABBIX housekeeper, etc).

By the way, having so many servers to care about, are you considering purchasing commercial ZABBIX support? ZABBIX health check and dedicated Technical Account Manager are among of support options we provide.

Contact [email protected] if you're interested.

I allready have send an email to this address, but until now i don't have response any mail.

Perhaps i have make an error with the housekeeper. I want to save the history and event information 90 days. I set the housekeeper values to 90 and the items have still the same value.
              Code:
Keep history (in days) = 90
Keep trends (in days) = 90

MySQL version = Server version 4.1.13
              Database size = about 8 - 10 GB
              database = innoDB
My problem, in the database i have still values which are older than 120 days. I don“t know what i have to do. Have you any idea? For your information i use zabbix version 1.1beta2.
