What is the size of your DB?

    Hi guys,

Last week-end, the size of our Zabbix databse grew by 200M!
We monitor about 11 hosts with not that much items/triggers/actions.

We use MYSQL with Zabbix 1.1Beta5, the Database is now 600M.

I would like to know what is the size of your DB, and what can potentionaly make it grow fast?.

    Thanks

I think that an important cause of huge Zabbix databases is that many of us leave 365 days as Keep history and Keep trends parameters for Items.

I've scaled back and now keep 30 days of history and 90 days of trends for most Items. For critical data, I keep 90 days of history and 180 days of trends. This keeps the db size under control.

      Cheers,

Use ZABBIX to monitor size of the database! You'll get much better understanding how fast the database grows and how efficiently ZABBIX housekeeper keeps database size under control.

I followed dminstrel's advice for history and trends, and placed a file size check on my database. It is 1.6GB actually, the backups are 600M.

It's been 24 hours and even tough i lowerd history and trends keep days, the database hasen't shrink.

How does Housekeeper work? I know it is set up to clean up every hour. (that's the default parameter in the config file)
And in Zabbix's interface I set it up this way:
Do not keep actions older than (in days):90
Do not keep events older than (in days):90
