Where is the 1.8.5 appliance?

Hi all,

1.8.5 has been out for weeks and I do not see that the appliance has been updated or even asked about from my searches in the forum. Is there going to be a 1.8.5 release of the appliance? Do many people use this appliance? I'm getting the impression that they do not from the lack of questions and updates.

Okay great, that helps. Good to see it has been updated. Maybe the references to the appliance on the download page could be updated to just have people go to the Suse Gallery in the first place. It seems less than ideal the way it is now

Do many (or any) people use the appliance in small "production" environments?

unfortunately, suse gallery does not allow downloads until you log in (unless we would provide deep links to the builds). that limits the usefulness of linking directly to it.

as for production use... appliance is totally not supported for that at this time
of course, if one knows what they are doing, using appliance as the base setup would cause no problems. as to how many people might be doing that, no idea. you can try asking that in a new thread
