To Daemonize or not to daemonize?

I have built zabbix server on a Windows 2000 platform under Cygwin. Everything is working fine, however, I would like to be able to start and stop the server process as a "windows service." Using the utility cygrunsrv to help create the service works like a charm. When zabbix starts it throws errors due to the process daemonizing (disappearing) and therefore is unable to stop it. Perhaps adding a simple command line switch instructing zabbix_server to not daemonize would solve this issue?

Ok, so replying to myself seems kinda wierd, but I did figure out what to do for cygrunserv to deal with the daemonizing properly. There is a command argument ( -x, --pidfile ) that you need to apply when creating the service. Direct it to the pid file zabbix_server generates and your good to go.
