Less refreshing on the web interface

Hi all,
When using the graphs, screens, and event history to troubleshoot problems, I find refreshing very anoying.
on the other hand, when having a realtime display of values, triggers and everything, the refreshing is really helpful.

I suggest something along the lines of
* disabling refresh on each and every page that has a date filter, when the end date is not 'now'
* disabling or reducing refresh every time the filter is set on more than N times the refresh rate (when using trends on screens with 1 month display, I don't need the last 30 second data)

What do you guys think ?

Even having a manual override of the refresh locally, like the drop-downs in the dashboard views, would be a welcome change for graphs and screens, in particular.
