    Handling of long urls

    Hi,
At the moment it looks like zabbix defaults to treating all urls as 255 character varchars. We have many urls that we test against which are way longer than this.

Can I suggest increasingly the default field length dramatically or changes the data type of the url field to TEXT..?

    Regards,
    David

    Hi,
I've looked at this further and noted that the "macro" field is of type "blob". So, long urls can be stored there and referenced by their macro name.

So while I believe making the url data type "Text" makes some sense, this is a reasonble workaround. Of course, what that would imply is that users make it standard practice to reference all urls as macros. I don't think that is covered in the web scenario documentation.

    Regards,
    David

Well, long URL can always be shortened by editing the domain of u\your site.
