Custom Screen Elements?

I've been tasked with creating a simple dashboard where the only thing I need is a simple status indicator (red/yellow/green) for each monitored host. I don't see this in the list of available screen elements and no documented way to create a custom screen element.

Is there a way to do this or can I submit the ability to create custom screen elements as a feature request?

Well actually you can make a ”map” with your hosts as icons. They will change color depending on status of triggers.

Not exactly what I envisioned, but I think I can work with that. It has to be "pretty" because it's for public display on a rather large multi-screen display. I'm open to other suggestions as well.

If you go the map way, you could take the more pretty icons from 1.9.x (beta) version. Just download the .zip source file from zabbix download page, unzip and look for the icons folder.

You could also try to search on "dashboard" in this forum ... but you will get a lot of hits.
