is it possible to do DNS autodiscovery + registration.
All our hosts are complying to our namingstandard, and it would be good for several reasons:
1. Speed - this will speed up autodiscovery, especially if you add your Zabbix server as DNS-slave and point your /etc/resolv.conf to localhost... no network scrabing needed.
2. Load - we have a lot of VLAN's that needs to be autodiscovered, this would take some of the load off our server...
3. Reliability - we will get alerts from hosts also if a Zabbix agent misconfiguration happens during our automated host-installation-process. Zabbix agent is therefore not startet, and when doing Zabbix agent autodiscovery, this hosts will then just be missing and not report anything...
4. When a host changes IP, a new zabbix hostid is not created.
Is there a DNS autodiscovery functionality already working/under implementation/or is it possible somehow to easily add this to zabbix via plugin/addon/etc. ?
