    cron-like item scheduling

Sometimes it could be interesting to schedule an item at specific hours/days, just like the crontab unix job scheduler.
I think this could be an improvement for the zabbix project.

It is in ZABBIX roadmap, but not in 1.1.

necroposting, but this got implemented for 3.0 in https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBXNEXT-2128

unfortunately, it does not use cron syntax, so you'll have to see the documentation at https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...ling_intervals

It is more flexible than the old good crontab syntax!

          Running script (action)?

          Hello,
It is possible using this great syntax, to run scheduled task / script / Action, instead of just checking an item? (Sorry if question is too novice or strange, i am still beginning in Zabbix) I am use v.3.2.1.
          Thanks.

no, scheduled execution only works with items. you could have an item with the desired schedule, a trigger to fire whenever the item gets new value, and an action executed when that trigger fires

there's still a feature request at https://support.zabbix.com/browse/ZBXNEXT-216 , but you might be better off with a dedicated tool like rundeck.
