we have IPv6 and IPv4 services in our campus network. We need to monitor both of them, of course. Up to zabbix 2.0, it was two separate hosts, one for ipv4 and one for ipv6 service.
Now, there is interface support in zabbix. So I can add ipv4 and ipv6 interface for hosts, which is good. But I cannot specify interface in template (that is logical, interface is host based).
Any suggestion, which is clean way to monitor such services? Zabbix agent can work over ipv4, but simple checks should use right interface.
One solution is to create template with dual keys, for example
smtp, smtp6
and after applying template, change interface of smtp6 to ipv6.
But it is not clean way. What do you think about this?
