    Operation procedures in zabbix

    HI,

I have a new feature request.

It would be nice if I could manage operational procedures in zabbix. An operation procedure could be (depending on how far you want to go):
    1. a description consisting of short name and possibly more text such as a hyperlink.
    3. possibly a document attachment.

It should then be possible to associate operation procedures with triggers. The trigger notification should then include a reference to the operation procedure(s) that are relevant for that trigger.

In addition, it would be good to attach a procedure to an item such that every trigger based on the item in its expression would autoamtically inherit the procedures from the item.

This would be a really useful feature because it speeds up the time to solution of a specific problem.

    Cheers
    Erik

Wouldn't this be better implemented by just setting up a wiki like twiki and using the comments parameter of your trigger to point to the twiki article

I have built a wiki for the company, based on Mediawiki.

If you click on an item on the map and select URL it takes you to the relevant wiki page.

The wiki pulls information from the zabbix database.

We've done the same, and actually use the Profile for this, too, with customer or system codes.

We change the dashboard PHP to add the server name automatically into the URL plus some profile variables, so our Wiki can auto process and give you the exact data, such as:

        wiki.chinanetcloud.com/procedure_wiki_44?host=db1&system=343

So that wiki #44 which is on the trigger such as low disk, then can look up a special procedure for host db1 on system 343
