Suggestion - Live Network Map Links

    Hey All,

I did perform a search before doing this post, and I did not find anything stating what I want to do, but if it has been asked for in the past, please accept my apologies. On that topic, I'm blown away that no one has suggested this!

Why not have "live" links on the Network Maps? I.E. I have all my networking gear and servers in Zabbix, Zabbix can hit the servers and all the networking gear, why not have the ability to assign an actual discovered interface from the network gear to the actual link between switch and server? Have it change colors based on bandwidth utilization, errors, discards, etc. and go red when it's down and blue when it's administratively shut down etc. etc.

I believe this type of thing can be done in Nagios and Cacti, but I specifically switched to Zabbix to stray away from those two thorns and centralize my monitoring

try adding triggers for any state you would like to match (like errors), then add those triggers as "link indicators" in link properties
