First of all, I would thanks the development team for this great product. It is really nicely designed and perfectly implemented tool. I'm using zabbix for last 5 years and I'm very happy with it. Here is my suggestion to improve the overall network status visibility at dashboard.
I'm planning to use zabbix at network operations center and one thing which NOC always has to know, in case of maintenance work - which event is related to the maintenance window and which is not. Basically, the maintenance window should be visible right on dashboard since this is critical information for decision making.
Here is a suggestion - there is enough space for the third column in dashboard. It will be reasonable to have something like "Activity stream" where you can see all events in chronological order. Each event should be shown with maintenance window it is related to (if any). That way the NOC engineer, who is constantly watching the dashboard, will always know there the maintenance is going on, this event is related to the maintenance but that is not. This information can be used to make decision if Operations engineers should be alarmed or not.
I know, Zabbix is OSS and better suggestion is a suggestion with patch, but I'm not a programmer who can make such change. So, I just throwing my suggestion with hope what someone is knowledgeable enough to implement my idea.
