Why Zabbix or Zabbix vs everyone else
I am new to monitoring and have been reading all sorts of product literature and product comparisons, but most are quite out of date. Many of the products seem to be moving to complete overlapping (ganglia and nagios).
I'm trying to decide which fromt end (ganglia, nagios, cacti, munin..) and
which backends (sFlow, collectl, collectd, gmond) that I should use.
The latest comparision concerning zabbix was from 2007 and with Zabbix now at 2.0.4, probably much has changed.
Can you please provide any comments. The features important to me are:
1. out of the box functionality
2. Adding application level metrics and then being able to graph and monitor them.
