How can Handle- When there default condition

Hi,

I have created one Item:

When there are cases some time data will not come as expected.

Let suppose I was expecting some data of type float and able to get this data as long as my service is upand running.

When there is case one service is NOT running then I will not get any data to my Item. in this case my Item was showing that 'Not supported'.

I would like to avoid this case, when sevice is down I would like to make my Item to default value 0 or 1.

How can i do this?

please guide me.

You need to write a script that will check the availability of the service and send "0" to Zabbix if the service is not working and the script can not get the current status.
