hi all,
the new template/action concept is much better like the old one imho. BUT a big disadvantage is the missing ability to add custom messages by hosts if linked to template.
e.g.
in my old company i used zabbix stable and early betas (1.2) and defined triggers/action (like the old school way) foreach item i want to monitor.
in the comment field i added notices like:
call mr. xyz (tel number) host is mandatory for bea.
if trigger for this item became true, message was sent with this comments without doing any special configuration.
in latest zabbix iam working with templates and this is brilliant, however, i cannot add all this comments in e.g. Unix.Host comment field for trigger, or maybe i could but it not makes much sence because an sms alert for example is getting cutted to ~120-160 letters and it would e kind of luck to get the right part in my alert.
i guess you need a new table like trigger.comments or some other way to get back the old functionality. or am i missing something?
regards,
marc
