    The future of DM???

Can anyone answer this please, will DM be supported in the next releases? When we did the Zabbix training, the feeling that we got is the we should go proxy, but that will not work for us, we did a lot of work on DM and would like to stick to that.

Some clarification, when I say DM, I mean Master and child monitoring as in Distributed Monitoring https://www.zabbix.com/documentation...ted_monitoring
We have 6 countries that we monitor like that, the main problem that we have is that the local country must have access to their own Zabbix server and due to the sensitive nature of their data, we cannot send the data to a central Zabbix server using proxies etc as the Zabbix server will then have to be exposed to the internet. By using DM, we give them access to their own Zabbix server and we sync the data to the Master Zabbix server over encrypted VPN, but what is the future of DM as we were told that it might be taken out of the next release?
    Anyone please?

I can't think that DM would be removed from future releases at all!

You can have a look at the roadmap: https://www.zabbix.org/wiki/Docs/roadmap

Unfortunately only a employee from Zabbix can tell you if it will/won't happen...

At zabbix conf 2012 there was some talk about a "new" implamentation of DM (from page 33):
        http://www.zabbix.com/img/zabconf201..._after_2.0.pdf
(Presentation should be at youtube also)
... and it is still in ver. 2.2 :-)

But you will have to contact zabbix sales to get a better/updated answer as Pada write.

dm will not be removed in 2.2, but there will be no "next gen" of it either yet
