Hi
Just spent a few days tracking down a speed issue. Turns out its more of a SNMP counter roll.
ifInOctets - points to a counter32 field
http:// www.cisco.com /en/US/tech/tk648/tk362/technologies_q_and_a_item09186a00800b69ac.shtml
as suggested in this document it will roll once every 30 odd seconds...
even worse for a 10G port (which i was monitoring !)
Seems like there is a new OID for counter64
.1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.6
I would like suggest the default oids move to the 64 bit counters !
or maybe add in the snmp templates the HC counters
