Advice to monitor Oracle 11g DB standard edition (method and template)

    Hi,

i'm not so good with Oracle enviroment, and i've look on the Zabbix integration plugin page what there are so much variables, so i'm asking here.

Any advice to what use as monitoring agent and templates? What item we should check in an oracle istance?

We are in a windows enviroment with Oracle 11g Standard edition.tweakbox appvalley https://vlc.onl/

Look at using v$sqlstats instead of v$sql. Its more efficient and holds data longer.

But rather than building your own stuff, in terms of tools, for SE a popular option is Statspack. It was "obsoleted" by AWR etc by still a very useful suite of utilities.

There are some decent templates out there for oracle monitoring. I’d suggest digging into those. Run Zabbix with a service account that’s part of the proper groups and you should be ok. Your dba’s should tell you what they want to be monitored, let you worry about how to get it. Austin Texas pool builders

Easiest is to monitor from a client. Use the zabbix server or proxy as a client and run zbxdb from there. No special software needed on the db server at all. Just a database user with some privs. Monitoring this way makes sure you also notice connectivity problems. An other advantage is that if you run RAC, you can use the database connection so as long as one instance is running, your monitoring works. Let me know if you need any help. Hotel Internet Services
